A Dingwall man who was in an Inverness bar shortly after his 18th birthday had a knife in his back pocket.

But it was spotted and police were called, Inverness Sheriff Court was told.

Fiscal depute Pauline Gair said Jayden MacLennan of Hill Street and now aged 20 "expressed surprise" when officers retrieved the weapon on June 26, 2019.

He said he didn't know how it got there, Mrs Gair added.

MacLennan pleaded guilty to possessing a knife in a public place.

Sentence was deferred until May 27 for a background report and the personal appearance of the first offender.
