Enquiries continue into Dingwall 'hit and run' in which woman (54) was hurt, police confirm

POLICE say enquiries are continuing over what they have described as a "hit and run" incident in which a woman was hurt.

The incident happened on Sunday, August 20 in Dingwall's Brown Square.

Police launched the appeal for information after making public the collision involving a van and a woman.

The collision happened around 7.40pm "when a van struck a 54-year-old woman and failed to stop".

The woman was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatment of her injuries.

Her condition is not known.

Constable Eve King said: “It is vital we find out exactly what happened here as a woman has sustained significant injuries as a result of this crash. I am appealing to anyone with any information or who might have witnessed the collision to come forward.

“I would also ask those with private CCTV or dash cam footage of the Brown Square area around 7.40pm on Sunday, to please review it and bring anything of significance to our attention.”

Police today confirmed that "enquiries remain ongoing and we continue to appeal for information".
