A ROSS-SHIRE town’s High Street has reopened to traffic after a continued police presence following a drugs bust.

Earlier, police issued an appeal to people over Dingwall High Street which was closed to traffic between the A862 and Tulloch Street “for public safety as essential work is carried out on a premises”.

This afternoon, a police van and car were seen outside the premises after the force said it had closed the High Street between the traffic lights and Tulloch Street.

Drivers were urged to use an alternative route.

This came in the wake of a raid of the former Factory Shop, leading to the officers arresting and charging two men, aged 31 and 22.

Sources say the police netted a haul of up to 2000 plants and unverified video shows dozens of plants and bags of the Class B drug from what looks like the inside of the building.

In an update statement issued this evening, police said: “Dingwall High Street has fully reopened.Motorists are thanked for their patience.”
