Dingwall dental practice opens new chapter in Ross-shire town under Dr John Barry
A NEW chapter begins today for a long-established Dingwall dental practice whose future had been in doubt for some time.
McIntyre, Corbet and Associates is being taken over by another long-established Highland dental practice which will begin the process of establishing the new team “and reigniting full service”.
The dentist leading the takeover, Dr John Barry, who is based in Caithness, says he is delighted “to be able to commence the journey to getting all existing patients back into routine care”. He says he has “managed to recruit some wonderful new dentists to the area” and will be assisted by several from his own team until the new arrivals have settled in to the High Street practice.

“The staff in the practice had been really concerned about the future but are now full of renewed enthusiasm as this practice has been part of the Dingwall High Street and community for decades,” he said in a statement. Dr Barry has appealed for understanding during the transition to give staff time “to get all the necessary systems back in place in order to ensure that all of the current patients will be seen for examinations as soon as possible”.
He says the team is “ready to welcome everyone who wishes to remain a part of this long established great practice”.
Unfortunately, he said, the practice is not able to take any new NHS patients but all current NHS patients, apart from the children of patients who move to Inverness with Dr Parkes and are currently seen under NHS arrangements, will be honoured.
Any current waiting lists will also be honoured when availability allows, he said, and “the main goal is to build this availability as soon as possible but there will be some rearranging of appointments to ensure service”.
He thanked patients in advance for their understanding and patience during the transitional period.
