TWO welcome visitors to a Ross-shire town have again been charming the occupants of a local business.

A nesting family of swallows was spotted at the Alchemist on Dingwall's High Street last year just around the time the building was being renovated.

Hazel Gordon has reinvented the former Dewar & Hay chemist shop at 48 High Street into a new gallery and shop.

Her refurbishment revealed many interesting original features of the historic building prior to opening.

The arrival of the feathered friends were a delight and their return this year equally welcome.

Ms Gordon posted: "This year, they were back, keeping an eye on progress.

"Last week the parents completed the feeding frenzy, and their brood left the nest, just as we reach the end of our building work.

"Been lovely to have their company, and we wish them safe travels in their world with no borders, and hope they come again next year."

The gallery is currently hosting work by Jane Appelbee and Moira MacBeath amongst others.
