Figures from Dingwall and Highland Mart annual North Country Cheviot sale

DINGWALL and Highland Marts Ltd yesterday sold 5157 breeding and feeding sheep at the annual sale of N.C. Cheviot ewes and gimmers.

Gimmers (987) averaged £86.42 (last year £95.13) and sold to £210 gross for Cheviots from No 1 Wester Alligan, Torridon.

Breeding ewes (3,598) averaged £58.42 (last year £62.23) and sold to £200 gross for Beltex crosses from 9 Wester Muckernich, Tore.

Feeding ewes (445) averaged £45.94 (last year £48.41) and sold to £88 gross for Texel crosses from Ose Farm, Struan.

Lambs (127) sold to £69 gross for Texel crosses from 17 Mellon Charles, Aultbea.
