Date in court for couple's 12.12.12 wedding
A COUPLE taking their nuptials in a historic building in Cromarty today (Wednesday) should have no problem remembering their wedding anniversary date.
For Brian Stephen (40) and Tammy Armstrong (34) decided to tie the knot on the unusual date of 12.12.12. at exactly 12 minutes past 12.
The couple, from Barrhead in Renfrewshire, were wed in Cromarty Courthouse, a former jailhouse which is now an award-winning museum and also doubles as an unusual wedding venue.
Speaking before the service, Brian explained he and his bride chose Cromarty because he had holidayed regulary in the Black Isle town with his family when he was a boy.
"I used to come up here with my mam and dad when I was a youngster and we stayed in the pre-fabricated chalets on the beach front at Cromarty during the summer holidays," said Brian.
"We always said that we would marry up here but we didn’t know where. Then we were trawling the internet and we realised that Cromarty Courthouse hosted weddings and we decided that was for us."
Brian added: "It was Tammy’s idea to marry on the 12th of the 12th month in 2012 and then she decided to go the whole hog and make it at 12 minutes past 12.
"It took a bit of working out with the Courthouse staff to get the 12.12pm slot but they fixed it for us and were wonderful."
