Police appeal over Wester Ross smash resulting in 'life-changing injuries'

Police are appealing for information following a serious road traffic collision on the A832 near Gairloch in Wester Ross.

The incident happened around 2.25pm on Fridaynear Kerrysdale, approximately three miles east of Gairloch, and involved a black Triumph motorcycle and a silver Ford C Max.

The 64-year-old male motorcyclist was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatment to what police today described as "serious and life-changing injuries".

The occupants of the Ford C Max were uninjured.

Road policing sergeant Donnie Mackinnon said: "Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this collision and would ask anyone who can assist to come forward.

"We would interested in speaking to anyone who witnessed the collision or how may have dashcam footage."

He added: "The road was closed for a number of hours to allow for an investigation at the scene and I would take the opportunity to thank everyone affected for their patience."
