Cromarty sparkles after eco day success

CONSERVING the beauty of the town they live in was top of the list of jobs carried out by Cromarty schoolchildren during their busy eco day last week.

Cromarty Primary School and members of the community joined together to roll up their sleeves and carry out some tasks to help the pupils become more aware of their environment.

The pupils spent a day working in their citizenship groups on a variety of activities to help them achieve their Eco Action Points.

Their activities ranged from making fruity kebabs, designing transient art on the beach, learning about litter in the environment with the RSPB, swapping books and taking part in session with the active schools coordinator.

The afternoon session involved the whole school heading down to the beach for a clean-up.

They were joined by Highland Council ranger, Martin Hind, who has been helping the P6/7 pupils work towards achieving their John Muir Award.
