Cromarty Firth councillor salutes swift action on Invergordon flagpole VE Day hitch

A FLAGPOLE was mended in time for a significant Easter Ross VE Day commemoration thanks to quick-thinking and teamwork.

Councillor John Edmondson (Cromarty Firth) said: “It was good to see so many commemorations for VE Day, including the one here in Invergordon.

“I was glad to be able to get the flag pole at the Invergordon War Memorial mended and fitted with a new rope with the help of the Highland Council at really short notice. So thanks to the various teams for responding so quickly to my requests allowing the flag raising to take place on schedule.
