Cromarty art trails and taster sessions planned through town this week
TWO trail tours showcasing local art and taster sessions are planned for Cromarty this week, to celebrate the town’s Winter Festival and the 2nd anniversary of Cromarty Camping.
To celebrate two years of operating Cromarty Camping, Cromarty Community Development Trust (CCDT) has been hard at work to create two trails through the Black Isle town this month.
Unlike the countryside trails along the shore, these new trails will take visitors on a short tour of some temporary attractions in Cromarty.
The first of these is a Poster Art Trail on Wednesday, November 5 around the town’s community-owned campsite, Cromarty Camping, where a trail of poster art made by local primary school children will be installed around the site.
The second trail is part of Cromarty’s Winter Festival, called Meet the Makers, which will showcase the talents of local makers at demonstrations, workshops and taster sessions around the town on Saturday, November 8. Each event is timed so that visitors can pack in all nine mini-events through the day, with time left over to visit the Christmas Craft Market at the Old Brewery and the In Cahoots exhibition at the Stables.
The Meet the Makers trail activities are:
• Hermione's Fishing Floats at Calluna — 11am
• Pottery Demo with Barbel at Cromarty Pottery — 11.30am
• Christmas Pizza at Sutor Creek — from 12 noon
• Scrap and recycled fabric seasonal wreath at Foundling Home — 1pm
• Mulled Wine Taster at Ingrid's House — 2pm
• Weave a Willow Star at Cromarty Courthouse 2.30pm
• Lino Cutting at Hugh Miller's Cottage — 3pm
• Cromarty Brewing taster at the Fishertown Inn — 4pm
More details on these events can be found on the Visit Cromarty Facebook page.
