Highland Council is advising that an Inverness road will be closed from 8am tomorrow for nine days.

Culduthel Avenue will be closed from its junction with the B861 Inverness-Leys-lnverarnie Road to its junction with the Southern Distributor Road so that a contractor, working on behalf of Cityfibre, can carry out fibre optic cable installation works.

Work is due to be complete by 6pm 18:00 on July 30.

A council spokesman said: "Access will be maintained for pedestrians, cyclists and emergency services' vehicles attending an emergency. Vehicles requiring access to properties located within the length of road to be closed, will be at the discretion and by the instruction of the contractor for the works.

"The closure will be implemented when appropriate signs and barriers are in place, and local residents will be notified by the contractor."
