AN Easter Ross musical group which delighted audiences with an Elvis-inspired show back in March has postponed proposed follow-up, Sunshine on Leith – for now.

Easter Ross Musical Theatre said it was “with a heavy heart” that the decision, based on ongoing coronavirus concerns, had been taken “until things have settled down”.

It hopes reherasals will start again in September 2021 for a March 2022 show.

It posted: “However, if things settle beforehand, we may consider an earlier date.”

Its plans, like those of so many other groups, have been hit by Covid-19.

The group's All Shook Up, staged before the coronavirus lockdown and inspired by the music of Elvis Presley, received rave reviews from audiences in Tain, where it was peformed at the Duthac Centre.

It had hoped to stage The Proclaimers' inspired musical hit Sunshine on Leith in March 2021.

"Something worth looking forward to, though", wrote Celia Fraser in response to the group's posting.

"A difficult decision to take but understandable in the present circumstances. Take care everyone and look forward to seeing you all in due course", wrote Douglas Clark.
