Highland Council announces 'temporary closure' of Victorian Market in Inverness as a precaution in response to a case of Covid-19 coronavirus associated with the site

THE Victorian Market in Inverness is to close for deep cleaning "until further notice" after a Covid-19 case was linked to the site.
Highland Council said the closure will be "as short as possible", but that the market will close at 6.30pm tonight.
"The closure is being taken as a precautionary measure due to a case of Covid-19 associated with the market," said a council spokesman.
"The closure will be as short as possible to enable deep cleaning and The Highland Council who manage the Victorian Market on behalf of the Inverness Common Good Fund will follow Public Health and Environmental Health guidance.
"All businesses within the Victorian Market should continue to follow the relevant Scottish Government guidance.
"Should any business wish further advice then they should contact the council's environmental health team on envhealth@highland.gov.uk
"Queensgate Market will remain open."
