CONTIN is set to see roadworks take place over nine days later this month to carry out “essential surfacing improvements” on the A835 road.

On behalf of Transport Scotland, BEAR Scotland will be carrying out essential surfacing improvements on the A835 south of Contin with works set to get underway on February 16.

The works are scheduled to take place over seven nights and are planned between 8pm on Sunday, February 16 and 6am on Tuesday, February 25. To ensure the safety of our workforce and members of the public, temporary traffic lights with a 10mph convoy system will be in place during working hours.

Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the resurfacing improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s north west representative, said: “These maintenance works on the A835 South of Contin will help address defects and greatly improve the surface for road users.

“The overnight closures are essential to ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists.

“We thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete this project. We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
