Police were assaulted and threatened by a 36-year-old Conon man they were concerned about.

Jason Cochrane, of Windsor Place, Conon, appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court and admitted repeatedly kicking two constables on the body when they attended at an address in Ferry Road, Dingwall on April 15 this year.

He asked for a background report on his client "despite his record of convictions".

Sheriff Aitken agreed and deferred sentence on Cochrane, who was again remanded in custody, until May 29.
