'Significant concern' for welfare of Chinese woman last seen on Loch Ness-side near major Highland attraction

A YOUNG woman last seen at a Loch Ness tourist attraction is still missing despite extensive police inquiries in Scotland and England over the past three days.

Police say there is "significant concern" for the welfare of Bilin Chen a Chinese national who had been living in Bath.

Police said today (Tuesday, May 31) their inquiries are continuing to trace the 26-year-old who has not been seen since Friday, May 27 when she was seen about 8pm between Urquhart Castle visitor attraction and the village of Drumnadrochit. They are about three miles apart along the A82 Inverness to Fort William Road.

Police urge anyone who has seen her or who has any information regarding her whereabouts any time since, or who has any other information to please call 101, quoting 1137 of May 28.

Miss Bilin was reported missing to Avon and Somerset Police on Thursday, May 26.

She is described as being a Chinese national, with dark hair and glasses. When last seen, she was wearing a white top, a light-coloured hooded jacket and a checked skirt.

Sergeant Tony Anderson at Inverness, said: “We have been working closely with our colleagues from Avon and Somerset following Bilin’s sighting in our area and have significant concerns for her welfare.

“We are appealing for anyone with any information or possible sightings to please come forward as soon as possible.”
