Muir of Ord Gala Week gets off to a colourful start

A choc-a-bloc Ross-shire gala week has got off to a colourful start following a weekend fete.

Muir of Ord Gala Week features a full eight days of events and activities, starting last Saturday with a fete.

Gala Queen Shannon Gunn was crowned by last year's holder of the title, Kara Godwin. She was attended by Gala Princess, Kendal Gibb and Gala Prince, Logan Brady.

There followed the Kids Fancy Dress and Elite Falconry gave an excellent display with six birds of prey.

Nine talented Highland Dancers showcased their skills and entertained the crowd. Also staged was the ever-popular It's a Knockout competition with six brave teams tackling the challenging course.

And Sutherland Caledonian Pipe Band played throughout the day.

The Colour Fun Run was also a big hit.
