A COLLAPSED embankment has forced the cancellation of all trains on part of the Far North Line.
Network Rail Scotland has warned that the closure is expected to remain in place for at least the rest of the Saturday, after an embankment “alongside the line” came away between Fearn and Tain.
It has led to the suspension of all rail services between Invergordon and Tain.
Services have been altered accordingly, with a number of additional journeys put on on either side of the closure - with some starting or terminating at Invergordon, Tain and Lairg. For details of the revised trains, check ScotRail’s website.
“We're currently unable to run trains between Invergordon & Tain due to an embankment coming away,” said ScotRail.
“We've arranged for Stagecoach Highland to accept our tickets and Smartcards on the full route between Inverness & Wick.
