AN Easter Ross supermarket has paid tribute to the many delivery volunteers who have helped to get shopping out to vulnerable customers and those shielding during the coronavirus lockdown.

To mark the 100th day of lockdown, yesterday, the Co-op staff in Invergordon took to their Facebook page to say a "huge, huge, HUGE" thank-you to all of the volunteers.

"They didn't just deliver shopping, they were there to have a wee chat, books, magazines or jigsaws," said the Facebook post.

"We've had some lovely letters of thanks for all they have done. It means a lot to us as their help took some much needed stress off our team. We were able to concentrate on our customers instore and provide a great shopping experience for them and maintain our social distancing.

"We are delighted all the ladies can now go back to their own line of work. Thank you all for everything you have done for us."

They also thanked people who are staying on "a wee bit longer to help us".
