A man who breached a bail order hours after being released from a sheriff court has been jailed for 70 days.

Michael Bradshaw (28) of Station Road Munlochy, who had been ordered not to return to an address in Friar Street, Inverness, admitted breaching the order on October 7.

Sheriff Iain Cruickshank was told at Inverness Sheriff Court by Bradshaw's solicitor Willie Young that his client had no money or phone on his release from prison and went to the address to pick up clothing.

He was seen entering the property and it was reported to police.

The court heard Bradshaw was later given a lift home to Munlochy by police when he was seen hitch-hiking on the Kessock Bridge.

He was arrested and remanded by different officers the following day.

Sheriff Iain Cruckshank told Bradshaw, who has 20 previous convictions for offences aggravated by bail: "Clearly you have no respect for bail orders."
