Wester Ross Isle View Care Home rated ‘very good’ by Care Inspectorate
A CARE home in Wester Ross has received praise from the Care Inspectorate.
Isle View Care Home in Aultbea provides care for up to 25 older people, with the home being within view of Loch Ewe.
The unannounced inspection found that “people were treated as individuals. Their choices, wishes and personalities were thought about and taken fully into account when the service considered how best to support them.”
When asked, one person said that the care home was a '10-star hotel'.
Another said that they 'Can't say enough good things about the home.'
People who live in Isle View were able to express themselves by decorating their room and social lives were enhanced by activities organised by staff.
Families of Isle View residents said “that they always were made to feel welcome”.
The staff were also rated extremely highly, with their ability to build “trusting and positive relationships” with both residents and their families highlighted.
The good levels of staff meant that residents could be well supported and that staff were able to properly know and assist those in care. Although staff are there to help, residents are still able to retain independence as much as possible.
Despite the largely positive report, the condition of the flooring in the corridors was flagged as a concern as well as training being completed, however there is a new training plan and a history of “outstanding” staff training.
The home received ‘very good’ ratings for how it supports people’s wellbeing and ‘how good is the staff team’.
