Ross-shire golfers swing into action to help Archie Foundation with Muir of Ord, Fortrose and Rosemarkie and Tain courses all involved

GOLFERS are being urged to swing into action to help a leading children’s hospital charity.
The Archie Open is a chance for players to enjoy a round of their favourite game, make a donation to the Archie Foundation and possibly even pick up one of a range of top prizes for their troubles.
All participants have to do is play a round of golf, submit their stableford score and donate £5 which will be used to help local sick children.
More than a dozen courses have pledged their support for the campaign including Fortrose and Rosemarkie, Muir of Ord, Golspie, Royal Dornoch and Tain.
The top scorer will win a free round of golf every month for a year – at a different course each month – for themselves and three friends.
Jamie Smith, fundraising manager for Archie, said: “We are extremely excited to tee off this amazing competition and we are incredibly grateful for the support received from the many clubs and courses across the north and north east who are getting behind the campaign.
“The Archie Open is set to be great fun and we encourage everyone to get out, play and take part.
“That £5 donation to take part in the Archie Open could pay for vouchers for a hospital meal so parents of a very poorly child can keep their strength up without ever having to leave their child’s bedside.
“It’s a relatively small sum of money to donate but the difference it makes for families in really challenging circumstances is priceless.”
The competition runs from September 1-30.
