Massive Dingwall cannabis farm found in ex-Factory Shop premises as two men are arrested with what is said to be 1500 to 2000 cannabis plants
A massive cannabis farm has been discovered in the former Factory Store on Dingwall High Street with an estimated 1500 to 2000 plants.
Sources confirmed that the former store whose premises have been empty since it closed in May 2019 was being used to cultivate the Class B drug.
A swarm of police activity occurred on the High Street on Wednesday when officers raided the premises.
It marks only the latest seizure of cannabis in the area and the second known such factory following the house explosion linked to a similar operation in 2020.
That explosion badly damaged a house in the town was caused by growing cannabis and led to two men being badly burnt in the incident on MacRae Crescent.
In May this year a Wester Ross loft was used for growing cannabis “to self medicate” and in January cops seized £600,000 worth of drugs in the Black Isle.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.30pm on Wednesday, 11 June, 2025, officers acting under warrant attended a premises on High Street, Dingwall.
“A cannabis cultivation was discovered within.
“Two men, aged 31 and 22, have been arrested and charged in connection and are expected to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Thursday, 12 June, 2025.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
