REPORTS of a person being struck by a train between Dingwall and Achnasheen has prompted cancellation of service between Inverness and Kyle of Lochlash.

UPDATE: Police confirm person has died after train incident near Dingwall

ScotRail says it is working closely with emergency services following the incident.

Disruption is expected to last until around noon today, the train operator said.

It means that train services between Inverness and Kyle of Lochalsh will be cancelled, delayed or revised.

ScotRail says replacement ticket acceptance is now in place with Citylink on their number 915 Inverness - Kyle of Lochalsh.
