Highland Council is advising motorists not to use the A832 at Slattadale in Wester Ross between the hours of 10am and 4pm next Wednesday.

On June 1, Phase 2 of road improvements in the area continue with controlled blasting taking place "at some point between those times".

The local authority says an exact time frame cannot be provided at present.

The blast site covers a long stretch of road and measures approximately 150m from the site of previous works during Phase 1, beginning at the end of Loch Bad an Sgalaig where the road narrows.

There will be signage at both extremes of the site that the road will be closed for 30 minutes on that day.

If operatives can narrow that window down further, any updates will be issued on the council's social media channels on Tuesday, May 31.

The council says it has managed to keep traffic moving during Phase 2, "something which was not possible during Phase 1".

It said: "Throughout the works priority and consideration has been given to motorists."
