A Black Isle primary is hoping to get its pupils back in the saddle next school academic year – with a little help from volunteers.

Avoch Primary's Bikeability scheme for P6 pupils was curtailed this year because of Covid-19 restrictions and limited playground space due to building work at the nursery.

The school now plans running the programme in the next school year with both the new P6s and P7s so that no-one misses out. It posted: "We are really excited to get back to this and have some great ideas for how to make it lots of fun!

"If there are any parents/grandparents/carers who would like to help us with the sessions next year, or would like to know more about volunteering, then please get in touch with the Parent Council by email at avochprimarypc@gmail.com. Anyone can help out - you just need enthusiasm, the ability to ride a bike and a sense of humour!"
