THE much-loved Cool Ceilidhs for Kids project returns to the Black Isle this autumn continuing its mission to immerse local children and families in the joy and heritage of Scottish traditional music and dance.

Sponsored by the Friends of Highland Music after a brief hiatus in funding, these workshops and ceilidhs promise engaging, community-driven fun.

Kicking off with a children's workshop on Sunday, October 13 at 2:30pm and followed by a community ceilidh on Friday, November 8 at 7:30pm, both events will take place at Gordon Memorial Hall in Rosemarkie.

Kenny Fraser said: "It’s heart-warming to see kids and families connecting through our music. These workshops are a great way for the younger generation to keep our cultural traditions alive."

Hugh Marwick said: "After the challenges faced by the arts over the past few years, it’s fantastic to see such strong support for traditional Scottish culture. We’re eager to fill the hall with music, dance, and laughter again."

The Cool Ceilidhs for Kids initiative is more than just learning steps; it's about building community and sharing the spirit of Scotland with the next generation. As funding challenges have tightened resources, the continued support from Friends of Highland Music has been crucial in keeping this cultural exchange alive, say organisers.

Families and music enthusiasts are invited to join the group for these events. For more information, please contact wahwahfiddle@yahoo.co.uk
