A BLACK Isle hotel has reopened following a brief closure because of Covid.

The Royal Hotel in Cromarty closed on Thursday after a member of staff tested positive for Covid-19.

In an update posted today, it said it had reopened following tests for staff.

It said: "Delighted to report negative PCR test results for the rest of our team so we will reopen today at 12.30pm!

"Thanks to our lovely guests for being so understanding and to our lovely friends who sent messages of support, much appreciated."

And it added: "We have a couple of tables available for dinner tonight and for lunch & dinner tomorrow so let us know if you’d like to join us!

"Please share and spread the word we are reopen - it’s funny how quickly news spreads when we have to close but it doesn’t seem to spread so quickly when we are open.

"Thanks again and look forward to seeing you soon!"
