Black Isle ceilidh event promises fun for everyone
A ‘Hoolie in the Hall’ event promises fun for all the family on the Black Iale next weekend.
Building on the success of its Cool Ceilidhs for Kids initiative, the Black Isle Ceilidh Band is holding the latest event on Friday, November 8 at the Gordon Memorial Hall in Rosemarkie.
Funded by Friends of Highland Music, the event offers an exciting opportunity for the entire community to come together and experience the joy of traditional Scottish ceilidh dancing.
Participants from the children’s workshop earlier in the month have praised the event.

One participant said: "The workshop was brilliant. The kids absolutely loved learning the Flying Scotsman and it was special sharing those dance steps together."
Hugh Marwick said: "Seeing everyone — from toddlers to grandparents — engaged and smiling is what these ceilidhs are all about. It's more than just a dance; it's a community coming together."
And Chris Rasdale of the Black Isle Ceilidh Band added: "The workshop sparked a remarkable enthusiasm among both children and adults.
"We're excited to bring that same energy and community spirit to a broader audience."
While the ceilidh is a natural follow-up to the workshop, it is also an all-encompassing community event.
"This isn’t just for families; it’s a celebration of autumn for the entire community," band member Kenny Fraser said.
"Everyone is invited to bring their own bottle, join the dance floor, and revel in the joyous atmosphere."
The Black Isle Ceilidh Band will provide live music and expert dance calling throughout the evening.
The dance starts at 7.30pm on the night with tickets priced £6 for adults and £3 for children available at the door.
