A BIKER failed to stop for police while driving on a stretch of road in the Highlands – and was then found to have no licence or insurance and failed an eyesight test.

The incident on the A835 – which runs between Inverness and Ullapool – was flagged by Highland police as part of an ongoing awareness-raising campaign.

Road police officers caught up with the motorcycle rider who failed to stop for them on the A835 over the weekend.

Police said: "Having ridden dangerously, the rider didn't have a licence or insurance and failed an eyesight test."

A report to the procurator fiscal will follow.
