HIGHLAND police are looking for help from the public following the reported theft of industrial batteries.

The Highlands and Islands Division of Police Scotland has outlined two separate incidents in which batteries have been illegally removed from what they call "temporary electrical equipment".

In the first, batteries were removed from equipment on the Corriegarth Estate between Dumnaglass and Gorthleck on the B851. It happened overnight between Tuesday (May 27) and Wednesday morning.

The second occurred between 2.15pm on Monday, May 12 and 7am on Tuesday, May 13.

The reported theft occurred at the temporary traffic lights situated on A836, two miles south of Ardgay. Four 12-volt industrial batteries were reported as stolen.

Police say they are keen to speak to anyone who has any information about the incidents.
