HIGHLAND Third Sector Interface (HTSI) has launched a new volunteering app.

Aye Volunteer will connect and match would-be volunteers with opportunities.

With this free app HTSI hopes to give its member and partner organisations seeking volunteers in Highland a greater chance of connecting with the right individuals for them.

In turn it will also connect interested volunteers with the opportunities that best suit their circumstances.

Aye Volunteer, Connect and Say Aye to Volunteering, will be a self-managed app that it is hoped will create a smoother process and closer connection between organisations and their volunteers.

HTSI chief officer Mhairi Wylie said: “It has been a long time since the importance and impact of volunteering has been as evident as it has in the past two years.

“It is important to remember though, that volunteers have been the backbone of much of our community-based activities, services and interventions across Highland for decades and as we emerge from the pandemic we need to consider how to reinvigorate our more traditional volunteering pathways.

“Our new Highland specific volunteering site, will soon to be a fully fledged app.

“Organisations will be able to post information about the opportunities that they have, and individuals will be able to let them know they are interested at the push of a button.”
