RESIDENTS are being urged to check their sheds, garages and outbuildings for a missing man – amid "growing concern" for his welfare more than 48 hours after he vanished.

Police are continuing to search for George Critch (63) who went missing from the Leachkin Road area of Inverness on Wednesday.

He is around 6ft, of medium build, with white short hair and white stubble. When last seen, he was wearing a black tracksuit, a navy-coloured Scotland t-shirt, black jacket, black trainers and has glasses which he may or may not be wearing.

Inspector Les Davidson said: “Our concern for George is growing and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area of Leachkin Road, Foresters Way, Kinmylies and Great Glen Way to think back and consider if they saw George.

"Our searches are continuing in these areas but I would now ask people who reside in the area to check their sheds, garages and outbuildings for George.

"I would also repeat the message regarding those residents who have Ring doorbells or private CCTV systems to review them for any trace of the missing person and to contact Police Scotland as it’s possible that you may have recorded images which could assist our enquiries."

A police incident caravan has also been set up at the top of Great Glen Way in Inverness and anyone with information relating to sightings of George can attend there to speak directly with officers. Alternatively, anyone with information which could assist can call 101, quoting incident 2414 of June 9.
