An investigation is under way to establish just what happened on Aviemore's Ski Road in the very early hours of Thursday morning.

Now police have launched an appeal for information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident, which resulted in serious injuries to a number of travellers.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed today: “We were called around 1.10am on Thursday, December 3 to a report of a one-car crash on the B970 near to the Coylumbridge Hotel, Aviemore.

“Four men, aged 59, 64, 48, and 44, and a woman, aged 52, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances of what happened.

“Anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 0151 of Thursday, 3 December, 2020.”
