Five brave members of the Mikeysline team are preparing to do an abseil and bungee jump to raise money for the charity which provides mental health support in the Highlands.

The group, which includes staff and volunteers, will do the challenges at Craggan Outdoors near Aviemore.

The bungee jump will take place tomorrow and will be followed by the abseil on Sunday, June 27.

Mikeysline support worker Pete Davidson said he was delighted to be doing the fundraiser for the charity.

"They’re a fantastic grassroots charity in Inverness that support anyone in need without the barrier of cost, waiting times or judgement," he said.

"On a personal note, I’ve never done a bungee jump before – and it’s terrifying.

"However, we’ve had some amazing people who we’ve worked with to overcome their own challenges.

"If they can do that, then it seems fair that I can get past my own nerves, it’s small fry compared to how well some of our clients have done."

Another participant, Amy Hasson, said she had always wanted to do a bungee jump.

"There’s no cause closer to my heart than supporting those struggling with their mental health," she said.

Volunteer Reece Byrne said: "I wanted to participate in this challenge, not only to raise funds for Mikeysline and raise awareness of mental health, but to show that any anxieties, fears or stress you might have, can be grasped and manipulated to your advantage by doing something new, daring and exciting."

Ami McCarle and Gary Miller make up the remaining members of the group.

Anyone wanting to make a donation can do so on a Justgiving page which can be found via Mikeysline social media pages.
