CHART-TOPPING Scottish singer-songwriter Amy Macdonald has been lined up for a one-off show in the Highland capital.

She will perform a live outdoor show on Friday, August 12, 2022, at the Northern Meeting Park in Inverness.

Speaking about next year's date, Macdonald – who has sold six million albums, two of them UK number ones – said: "“I cannot wait to get back on the stage and share my songs old and new with my fans in the north of Scotland. It’s been a long time coming, so I promise to put everything into this show, and make it a night to remember. My band and I have put together an incredible live show this time around and honestly it’s never been better, so come and join us!”

The singer decided what she wanted to do after seeing Travis at T in the Park when she was just 13.

It wasn't long before she was performing at and later headlining the same festival.

She is known for a string of hits such as This is the Life, Fire, The Hudson and Mr Rock and Roll. Songs from her latest album, The Human Demands, will make the set list too.

The Highland show is being organised by concert promoter LCC Live as part of its Live in the City series of summer 2022 events.

Claire Kidger, director of LCC Live, said: “We’re thrilled that Amy Macdonald is to perform in Inverness next August. She’s such a talented artist, with an amazing voice and not surprisingly has a huge following. Her sold out show at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow this month is testament to that.

“We really can’t wait to welcome Amy to Northern Meeting Park – it will be a great night, and we’d love it if you could join us!”

Tickets for Amy Macdonald at Northern Meeting Park go on sale at 9am on Friday from www.lcclive.co.uk; www.ticketline.co.uk or from Cafferys Menswear in Eastgate Shopping Centre, Inverness.
