Great Wilderness Challenge roll of honour revealed as scene set for 2024 Wester Ross fundraising extravaganza

THE scene is being set for a Wester Ross fundraiser which has generated a remarkable £4.3 million for charity in its 37-year history.

The Great Wilderness Challenge (GWC) takes place on Saturday, August 17.

Options traditionally available are:

25 miles Dundonnell to Poolewe (walking or running)

13 miles Aultbea to Poolewe (walking or running)

13 miles circular from Poolewe (walking only)

7 miles circular from Poolewe (walking only)

10K run Poolewe.

Entries have now closed on the 25-mile route (walking and running) but a waiting list is in operation. Places are available on all other routes “until limits are reached”.

The GWC inaugurated in 1986 and has been staged every year since except 2020. This will be the 38th .

It has raised over £4.3 million in its 37-year history.
