AIR passengers due to depart from a Highland airport might face delays and disruption as a flight company has announced the cancellation of one flight as well as a delay on this morning's schedule.

EasyJet, which has been suffering ongoing issues across its UK services in the past months due to staff shortages among other issues, saw their early flight from Inverness Airport to London Gatwick delayed.

According to their website, the delay is due to "changes to their flying programme" resulting in the plane being changed for today's flight.

Yesterday the company have also confirmed that their flight to Bristol, due to depart at 12.40pm today, had been cancelled.

An easyJet spokesperson said: "“We are very sorry for the delay to flight EZY862 from Inverness to Gatwick and the cancellation of EZY394 to Bristol today. We notified customers due to travel to Bristol of their options to rebook or receive and refund and are providing hotel accommodation and meals where required. Nonetheless we fully understand the disruption this will have caused to their plans and we are very sorry for this.”

Delays will continue in the afternoon as Loganair's flight to Benbecula, originally scheduled for 3.20pm, is expected to depart at 4.20pm.
