MOTORISTS on the A9 faced disruption this afternoon (Thursday) after a fuel tanker crash south of Daviot.

The tanker, which was empty at the time, was heading south before losing control and hitting a barrier – but a message from Traffic Scotland said the Inverness-Perth route was blocked.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said there were no injuries as a result of the one-vehicle accident which happened at about 12.40pm, and the fire service did not attend.

There were heavy snow showers in the Inverness area at the time.

The police spokeswoman said their latest information at 1pm was that the tanker was "obstructing the full carriageway."
