A87 crash sees casualty taken to Glasgow hospital via air ambulance

A CASUALTY has been taken to hospital via air ambulance after a one-vehicle crash this morning (February 25) on the A87.

The Wester Ross road connecting Skye to the mainland is closed in both directions, as of 2pm, near Inverinate in Kyle, after the crash at around 11.10am.

The Scottish Ambulance Service have now confirmed that a patient has been transported to Queen Elizabeth University hospital following the incident.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 11:15am to attend a road traffic collision on the A87, Inverinate near Kyle. We dispatched one ambulance and one air ambulance to the scene. One patient was transported to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow.”

Traffic Scotland said: “The A87 is closed in both directions at Inverinate, due to a road traffic collision. Road users are advised to use an alternative route and allow extra time for their journey.”

Police Scotland said: “The A87 near Inverinate, Kyle, is currently closed in both directions following a one-vehicle crash which was reported around 11.10am on Tuesday, 25 February, 2025.

“Emergency services are in attendance and motorists are asked to avoid the area at this time.”
