A two-vehicle crash near Belladrum closed the A833 on Tuesday evening, police have announced.

The collision occurred shortly after 6pm on the A833 between its junction with the A862 Inverness-Beauly road and Kiltarlity.

Confirming the closure in a statement issued just after 8pm, a Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The A833 road is closed near Belladrum, between the A862 junction and the A833 at Kiltarlity, due to a crash which was reported around 6.05pm on Tuesday.

“Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use an alternative route.”

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was also involved in the collision response. Two appliances - one from Inverness and one from Beauly - were scrambled at 6.03pm.

A spokesperson confirmed that two vehicles were involved, but had no further information at the time of writing.

The fire service units were stood down at 6.41pm.

It is not yet known if there were any injuries as a result of the crash.
