Broadband and phone line works will result in a detour of up to 13km for motorists living west of Muir of Ord early next month.

Highland Council has advised people living along the U3006 Ord Distillery to Aultgowrie and Marybank road that a 40 metre section will be shut to traffic while BT Openreach works to replace poles near Aultgowrie House.

The closure will take place between 9.30am and 5pm on Friday, February 7.

While the section is closed, motorists will instead be directed along the A832 instead - a detour of as much as 13km depending on where a motorist starts.

"Alterative routes are available and these will be signed," said a Highland Council spokesperson.
