A POWER cut knocked out electricity to more than 1000 homes and businesses on the Black Isle on Tuesday morning.
The cut struck an area which was centred on Fortrose at 8.24am, and affected 1048 customers.
Although some 1006 of those properties saw their power restored within 10 minutes, another 42 properties were still without electricity at the time of writing (at 12.15pm).
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) said it hoped to restore power to those remaining sites by 1pm.
The cause of the outage “is being investigated” by SSEN engineers.
A spokesperson for SSEN said: “We would like to apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused by today’s power cut and thank them for their patience whilst our engineers work to restore power as safely and quickly as possible.”
