Police appeal after driver (42) dies following Ross-shire road collision

POLICE have appealed for witnesses to a Ross-shire car crash which resulted in the death of the driver.

 

The incident happened in the A890 at Strathcarron on Sunday night and resulted in closure of the road for several hours.

The one-car collision happened around 7.20pm near the Strathcarron Hotel . It involved a grey Audi A3 car.

The 42 year-old driver of the Audi died at the scene. No-one else was hurt. 

The A890 was closed to allow roads policing officers to undertake a collision investigation.

The road reopened again this morning at 1.30am.

Sergeant Gregor Hay of the roads policing unit thanked motorists for their assistance and patience during the police enquiry.

He asked for anyone who witnessed the collision who has not already been in touch to contact police on 101 quoting incident NP-11215-17.
