A STUNNING variety of exhibits gave judges at the Ross-shire Federation SWI Bulb & Baking Show plenty to ponder at the annual showcase at Dingwall Academy.
The Henderson Challenge Cup and the Elizabeth Murray Cup went to Killearnan, whose Christine Bremner also won the Elizabeth Sutherland Rosebowl.
The special prize for outstanding exhibit in this category went to Nettie McLeod (Invergordon/Saltburn). Marjory Fraser (Ferintosh) won the special prize in this section. Sheila Warren (Killearnan) won the Torrehermosa Cup.
The Isobel Gray Trophy was won by Maureen Howie (Muir of Ord) while the Special Award for most outstanding exhibit in class 3 was won by Helen Fraser (Resolis), who also won the Honorary President’s Cup. The Nan Gill Trophy for most points overall in the Young People section in class 4 was shared by Neil MacGregor and Finlee Irvine (Contin) and Sophie Pokorniecki (Ferintosh). Second were Kayleen Paterson and Megan Paterson (Alness) and Ellen Bain-Smith (Contin). Third were Aidan Marshall (Contin) and Peter Campbell (Resolis).
First in the Lady MacEwan Cup went to Marjory Matheson of North Kessock. Second was Jean McCulloch (Marybank & Conon) and third was Phyllis Goodall (Contin).
Elaine Slinn (Ferintosh) won the Edith Grigor Trophy. Ferintosh also claimed the Mrs Redhead Perpetual Challenge Cup as the institute with most points in class 5. Runner-up was Contin.
The Alice MacGregor Trophy for the young person with most points in class 6 went to Finlee Irvine. Neil MacGregor was second and Sophie Pokorniecki third.
Invergordon/Saltburn won the Nurse Sinclair Memorial Cup as institute in the north area with most points in show in proportion to membership. The central area winner was Dingwall, taking the Mrs Laidlay Trophy. Contin took the South Area Salver while the Black Isle Cup went to Killearnan.
