Following on from the success of last year's Clan Ross Gathering, which saw over 120 Rosses from all over the world converge on Tain, it was decided to repeat the experience this year, but on a smaller scale.
"This year we want to encourage Rosses and septs of the clan such as Vasses, McCullochs, Andersons and Corbets from our home area to join us in an evening of music and dancing," said Museum Trust chairman Alistair Jupp.
"However anyone who enjoys good old fashioned Scottish dancing will be made most welcome."
Attending the ceilidh will be Hugh Ross who is the son of the Chief of Clan Ross, David Ross of Ross and Balnagowan.
The family will be welcoming visitors to the Clan Ross tent at the Tain Highland Games earlier in the day.
Tickets cost £5.50/4.50 and are available from Tain Through Time, Tower Street, Tain, by telephone on 01862 894089 or at www.tainmuseum.org.uk
