ROSS-shire residents can now contact their Lord Lieutenant and keep track of her engagements by simply logging on and clicking on a new website.

Janet Bowen, Lord Lieutenant for Ross and Cromarty, Skye and Lochalsh is now online after launching the new website for the Lieutenancy in her area.

She was joined at last week's launch by web developer Rob Elliott and Deputy Lieutenant David Lockett.

Mrs Bowen said, "I am really pleased to have this easily accessible and easy to use website at www.lordlieutenant-rossandcromarty.org.uk available for the community to see what the Lieutenancy is doing in the area. "I am especially delighted with the photographs on the site, which will mean there will be a pictorial record of recent Royal visits as well as other events such as the delivery of a card from Her Majesty the Queen on the occasion of a Diamond wedding anniversary, 100th birthdays, cadets Beating the Retreat, Remembrance Day parades, the award of medals, Armed Forces Day celebrations, and so on."

She explained the website contains a simple history of the Lieutenancy and details of the current Vice Lord-Lieutenant and Deputy Lieutenants, their areas of responsibility and a contact form for feedback.

"I particularly hope that people will take advantage of the opportunity to nominate candidates for awards and recognition of service and good works they do within our community. There are so many unsung heroes and heroines who deserve recognition," she said.
