CAROLINE Bury, this year’s Cromarty Arts Trust Student Prize winner, marks the end of her month-long residence in Cromarty with an exhibition in her studio on Friday.

The Student Prize is awarded annually to a recent graduate of the Art Schools in Scotland, and has been running for the past three years. Caroline, who graduated from Moray College, has spent her residency painting figurative work, inspired by a ceilidh she attended in the town, and using mixed media to produce dramatic landscapes.

She has produced work with a group of young Cromarty people centred around their hopes, dreams concerns fears and passions. There was also time to lead an evening of Tribal Fusion Belly Dancing to a group of over 20 enthusiastic Cromarty women.

"We had such great fun - we're still smiling about it!" commented one participant.

Caroline said: "My time at Cromarty has been fantastic and invaluable! With two art workshops and one of dance, just being here has inspired me in many ways. "

The exhibition begins at 7pm on Friday in the Stables Studios, Cromarty. The Cromarty Art Group Exhibition will also be open in the main gallery.
