PLANS are next week being laid for the official launch of Invergordon’s trailblazing mural trail.

The groundwork for the Fleet Festival — set for Saturday, September 15 — will be laid at a meeting at Invergordon Arts Centre on Thursday next week with interested parties urged to come along and contribute.

Invergordon Off the Wall’s Helen Kermode said yesterday, “It will be an exciting arts festival to launch Invergordon’s Mural Trail.” It has been timed to coincide with the 76th anniversary of the Invergordon Mutiny and aims to be a celebration for everyone who has contributed towards the town’s distinctive murals to date. Added Helen, “Invergordon Off the Wall wants to make this a day to remember for local people, to acknowledge all the hard work which has gone into the murals, whilst also attracting visitors from the region and elsewhere.

“Whether you are a group, an individual or business who would like to join in or offer help in some way, please come along at 7pm on Thursday to Invergordon Arts Centre to find out more, share your ideas and to express an interest.”

Refreshments will be provided. Anyone wanting more info can contact Helen on 01862 842927.
